Lamar Egg Scramble Jamboree, Wednesday, March 31 – Saturday, April 3, 2010 in downtown Lamar, South Carolina (on US 401). This four-day festival features arts, crafts, and food vendors (noon until...), carnival (4 - 10 pm), and street dance (6 - 10 pm). July 4th Family Fireworks Festival, Friday, July 2, 2010, 6:00 - 9:15 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1001 North Marquis Highway (intersection of US 15 and US 15 Business), just north of Hartsville, South Carolina. The three-hour festival features a patriotic tribute and performances by local musicians and dance groups. Amusements include pony rides, inflatables, midway games plus hot dog and pie eating contests. Merchandise and food vendors will fill the courtyard. You can be sure there will be plenty of good food. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax, but no coolers or alcohol, please. Fireworks at sundown (about 9:15 p.m.). Free admission; $1 parking charge.. If necessary, a rain date is scheduled for Monday, July 5th. Attendance ranges from 7,000 – 10,000. South Carolina Sweet Potato Festival, Saturday, October 9, 2010, on the Public Square in Downtown Darlington, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Entertainment, activities, vendors, food, balloon launch, and antique car show. Sponsored by the Pilot Club of Darlington. This one-day event is the longest running festival in the Pee Dee and attracts approximately 22,000 visitors each year! - Ovis Hill Family Farm Festival, October 31 & November 1, 2009, is limited to handmade, natural crafts and fiber artists, by invitation only. Sheep shearing and border collie demonstrations, fiber artists, spinners, weavers, wool products, farm-fresh organically grown food, music, Farm Store, pumpkin patch, hay bale maze, games, arts & crafts, animals to visit, cows being milked, etc. Located at Ovis Hill Farm, 1501 Weaver Street, Timmonsville (off SC 403, Oates Highway, between Lamar & Timmonsville). Society Hill Catfish Festival, Saturday, November 6, 2010. Car, truck & motorcycle show from 8-11 am. Parade at 11 am. From 9am-4pm, a full day of entertainment, arts & crafts, games, amusements and food. Held on the grounds of the old St. David's School, on S. Main Street (US 15/52/401). This exciting one-day festival attracts approximately 17,000 visitors from across the region. Open to all vendors, subject to application approval.
